AVAILABILITY OF QUALIFIED TEACHERS FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION AMONG JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Abstract
This work discusses availability of qualified teachers for effective teaching and learning of physical and health education among junior secondary schools
. This study seeks to evaluate the availability of qualified teachers for effective teaching and learning of Physical and health education in our secondary schools using schools in brass local government area as our focal point. Pragmatist theory which is a philosophical example of innovation based on policy orientation and abstract world view, pure ideas as the Yardstick (tool) for assessment, teaching and learning of Physical and health education was adopted as our theoretical framework. Our method of data collection is primary sources which helps us to organize the information in quantitative form.

Two hypotheses tested are that we lack qualified teachers in Physical and health education in Brass local government area and that performance of students in Physical and health education is poor.

The study recommends that the ministry of education will sit up and take the bull by the horn in nipping it in the bud the endemic problem. Non-dedicated and incompetent teachers should be shown the way out while provisions will be made for the reward of teachers and students to enhance greater performance output and productivity.

ELECTRICITY TARIFF INCREASE BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA IS EVIL

ELECTRICITY TARIFF INCREASE BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA IS EVIL Nigeria federal governments over the years have been very irresponsible when it comes to electricity, there have been a continuous accumulation of gross mismanagement and misappropriation of funds which should have been used to develop our electrical power generation capacity. The poor levels of power supply in Nigeria have affected the growth and development rate of the Nigeria economy. It is therefore a move pf gross insensitivity for the federal government of Nigeria to plan to further increase electricity tariffs even in the face of poor management and administration in Nigeria.
